From my back porch I have seen some amazing sites.  There are always many different birds in my backyard such as the Mockingbird in the above photo.

I have seen all different types of wildlife.  Everything from coyotes, squirrels, raccoon,  and even wild hogs.  I am very blessed to be able to sit and wait to see what might appear next.

Here in Arkansas it has been raining off and on for about three weeks.  Some days there are very heavy rains,  while other days are just hit or miss showers.  I captured this female Whitetail Deer on the banks of the small pond here on the farm in my backyard just after a heavy rain late one evening. A very big doe and she was very cautious as she walked through all the tall grass.  I have been seeing her take this same trail every evening for the past few days.  Some days I can catch a glimpse of a small fawn she has with her.  This time of the year is when the females are having their young.  Most young does have only one fawn, but it is very normal for the older doe to have twins.

She kept looking back over her shoulder as if she was waiting on the fawn to follow or catch up with her. Although this time I didn’t get a chance to capture a photo of the fawn, I did get to see a slight glimpse of an ear and a few spots on its back. The fawn was there in the big clump of grass next to her.  Maybe next time I will get that great shot that everyone dreams of capturing.

  1. Hi,

Just wondering what tags you have to use in the states for your cattle? We have to double tag (PITA!!). Your photos are lovely.

    1. Hi Katie! Thank you for your comments. I appreciate that. You also have a great blog and beautiful pictures as well. As to your question about tagging cattle, here in the United States as of right now we are not required to tag our cattle. It is just our preference to do so.
